Meaning of Cordaro [kor-DAH-roh]: rope-maker

Civil birth records were not made in Sicily before 1820, and I've been unable to find the circa 1733 church baptism record of my 4th-great grandfather Stefano Cordaro. Below is his 1757 record of marriage to Angela Marca. His birth year is estimated from the date of his marriage and from the birth dates of his children. He was born during the reign of the King of Sicily, Ferdinando I (also known as Ferdinando III and IV!!), who in turn was a subject of his father King Carlos III of Spain and All its Holdings (including Sicily).
