        No primary records of my fourth-great-grandfather Gioachino Abbate's birth have been found.    His name is given on the marriage and death records of his son Giuseppe Abbate.  Besides the name of his son and his wife Anna (no surname given), no other information is known for certain.  Since his son was born in about 1776, it's assumed that Gioachino was born in about 1755 or earlier.
