This story took place at a time when girls were struggling for equal access
in sports.  Girls had been held back because they were thought to be
weaker.  Fortunately, there were parents who believed that children were all
equal and deserved an equal chance at sports.  We've come a long way!
Girls now have the opportunities they rightfully deserve.

Stephen went on to play hockey up until the time he graduated from
college.  He has coached youth hockey and advocated for his daughter Grace,
who became an excellent hockey player.

Angela continued in her pursuit of hockey and also played college soccer.
As a Biology teacher, and as a coach, she became an advocate for other girls.
