James “Jimmy” Weckerle
entered into eternal peace on January 31st, 2019. Beloved son of
Marie Weckerle and the late Norbert E Weckerle, cherished
brother of Linda Roach, Robert Weckerle, Donna Weckerle, the
late Karen (James) Braithwaite, dearest uncle of Susan
Braithwaite, Willian Braithwaite, Robert (Christina) Roach,
Brian (Killian) Roach, proud great uncle of Magdalene, Gavin,
Stella, Shae and Calvin Roach, special friend of the Beachridge
Boys, appreciative friend of staff at Beachridge and People Inc.
Workshop, former Special Olympian, softball player, proud
American, enthusiastic Buffalo sports’ fan, lover of donuts and
turkey subs and all things Marine. Jimmy gave his love
unconditionally to his family “you blood” and everyone he met as
he announced, “you cool”. He never considered himself disabled
and embraced life’s adventures: travel and camping with his
family, visiting the farm in Cohocton, horseback riding,
navigating a boat in Clear Lake,TX with his brother Bob, life in
Tucson, AZ with his sister Donna, going to Mexico. Jimmy loved
watching Bonanza, Andy of Mayberry, Gunsmoke and was thrilled to
meet and be photographed with Knight Rider star, David
Hasselhoff. |
He enjoyed listening to rock and country music. Jimmy was proud
of his work as a Meals on Wheels volunteer. Jimmy developed his
own unique communication skills so he could talk to everyone. He
considered his doctors, staff at sheltered workshops and his
group home as his friends and gave smiles and high fives freely.
Some of Jimmy’s last words were “me go home” and he is now truly
at peace in God’s embrace. A memorial mass will be offered in
